Wolf Roll bar in a Vert??

Just wanted to see what the general feeling was about how roll bars look in a Z28 vert. My car is 95% street car btw but want to start adding some safety gear. I don't get to the track much. This is the one I am eyeing. It's functional unlike the RK sport one which I sort of think looks gay.

I noticed that the Wolfracecraft shop is only 2 hours from home so I am considering just driving over there to spend a few days in Dallas screwing around and have it installed. So if you saw this on the street would you say? Cool or gay?
My car is triple black and looks completely stock with salad shooters and all. Also sort of concerned if it would turn buyers away if I sell.

lol, that's a good point. I guess I would feel that much worse evertime I am beatin' on the street knowing the other guy is like "what's that roll bar all about?"

I've got a Wolfe roll bar for my convertible. I'd tell you how it looks and what I think of it if it weren't still sitting on top of my cabinets!!!

Re: Wolf Roll bar in a Vert??

The only reason I would ever buy a 'vert f-body or vette is to put a sick cage like that it in. When I was 15 and out in CO I saw a 30th anniv. TA (not sure what year) which ever one is the 4th gen that was painted white with a single blue stripe down the middle and blue annodized rims. ANYWAYS it had a nasty sounding cam in it and when the guy dropped the top there was a white powercoated roll bar/cage with a custom 3rd brake light built in. I wish i had a pic of it but back then is when digital cameras were like 600 bucks for 1 mega pixel!

I personally like this bar alot and will get one soon, for mine. People that I know that have it, have said the fit was excellent. It does restrict back seat use, but I seldom use mine anyway.

Re: Wolf Roll bar in a Vert??

Thanks for the replys. I am going to have it done before I move up north to MI.
I am not going to do the optional swing outs. I don't think I would actually use them to get in and out of the car since the bar is notched down anyway.

I was going for the weld in cross bar option but then I saw a pic that showed that it does not allow for the rear seat to lay down. I need the seat to go down. I need to haul a Coleman 108 cooler from time to time. The other option is the "removable" crossbar. I am going with that now. It is not NHRA legal but I am not running 11's anyway. The crossbar seems like it would help somewhat if I was ever t-boned plus I can get those cool seatbeats to go with it.

Most tracks dont care. As long as you have a cage theyre cool at least for T&T stuff. I really cant see the reason for wanting to add more wieght to a heavy car if you dont need it.

It's the old NEED ver. WANT. Lots of people put huge drilled and slotted brakes on their car and don't need them or ever use them. But it's still COOL.

I had that bar in my old trans am . I ordered it pre-notched . It all went together perfect . Easiest roll bar ever to install . We tacked it in the car , then was able to take it out and weld it completely in the garage

I was wondering how people get something like this powdercoated once it was all in. Guess i know now.

I didn't know any vert people here actually had one of these. The pics do look sweet imo. My wife says it looks bad but what does she know about taste. Hell, she married me.
