windsheild tint??
the cops will sh it on your for it. thats WAY past J walking, cause even very light tint on all windows would make it VERY dark inside.
that said I do know people that tinted the top and bottom 5" or so. and they were still hasled

I had done it before.
Both times, I got the lightest titanium film available. It was pretty expensive to have installed but it turned out pretty good.
It was so light that no one really noticed unless they stood outside and put their hand inside the car and looked at their hand though the windshield and noticed it was a just a bit darker than on a regular non-tinted windshield. The sides and back weren't super dark either so it didn't make things completely blacked out.
I even got pulled over a couple of times and nothing was said. They probably just didn't notice.
The thing is, when I pulled up behind someone and they looked in their rearview mirror, all they would see is a reflection of the sky due to the rake of the windshield. Because the film was titanium, it kept a decent amount of heat out of the interior as well. I REALLY had to pay attention when driving at night. It was a bit darker than having headlight covers on.
One thing I need to mention, my car was far from a daily driver. I wasn't driving it every day where the odds of getting pulled over was pretty good. I also had a radar detector and if it went off or I saw a cop car, I rolled the windows down to avoid getting pulled over for that.
If a cop were to say something to me about it, I would just say that it was a show car (which is true...it was, part time anyway) and hopefully I wouldn't get in too much trouble for it.
It is a risk, that is for sure. You have to be smart and responsible about it.
The ONE good thing that came out of the ricer craze is that windows are tinted more than they used to be and therefore, the police are less apt to pull someone over for it. If they were to, they would be pulling people over for it all day long...at least around Detroit anyway!

A friend of mine has it on his car. He has never gotten harrassed or anything, but I live in a fairly small town where people get their catalytic converters taken off regularly, so stuff like that isn't big at all.
yeah see here in new jersey the laws about this **** have gotten significantly worse over the years getting close to california unfortunately, if they are gonna make **** illegal they should make those ridiculous 80" aluminum wings and any "performance" walmart part illegal for being an eyesore an distraction first before anything else lol
I know of two people in my area that have 50% tint over their entire windshield. One of them is my brother. It's not very dark at all and even helps with headlight glare at night. If it is applied correctly, I doubt anyone would even notice it.
Michigan is slowly waking up to the abuses of the state's ban on window tint on the front windows. FYI, there's a bill in the Senate right now to increase the penalty from a no point equipment civil infraction to a 90 day in jail misdemeanor + $100-$500 fine and mandatory removal/compliance. Currently, if you have anything below the 4" limit on the windshield it CAN be written as a 2 point moving violation called Vision Obstruction. I know MSP writes these all day long. Some other jurisdictions are catching on as well....so beware.
