Question Will taking off z28 emblems leave a "shadow" on the paint?!

I am about to take off the z28 emblems on my ride and replace them with different shaped/style z28 emblems but am worried the paint underneath may be in better shape than the rest of the paint. Should I worry about there being a "shadow" left behind on the paint from my old emblems?! They are just "glued" on and not actually riveted in like the old days right?! Thanks--

Oh bummer dude!!! Well my paint is in pretty good shape so I hope I will be alright, and as far as the glue I will just use the adhesive in the same spots to mount the new badges I guess, lol ?!

Floss or fishing wire usually helps to remove the adhesive, or a low-strength goo-be-gone type product.

if ur REEEAAALLLY handy with a small sharp knife that works well, used tha tmethod on a friend of mines car while he was getting his ready to paint, took a small bit of clear in a few spots but it was a HUGE strip of adhesive lol... that fishing line idea sounds good though hmmm... good luck with it either way!

I did the heat gun, floss and goo gone.
Did a great job. No shadow.
Then went with 69' style badges.
Check it out

Did you guys remove the old emblem then remove the residue or did you try to remove it all at once?

Cool man I went with the 69 badges too. Had them for a while, i bought the cheap reproductions and the chicago winters where not kind to them so im going to buy new ones soon. I got two for the fenders and one for the grille, I think it looks cool, never personally got a compliment on them tho. As for the original emblems I did the opposite of everyone else I removed them in the cold and for the most part they popped right off glue and all. lol I removed the remaining glue with rubbing alcohol.

I just took mine off tonight, still looks like they are on my car since there is SO much adhesive left behind . I will let you guys know how the wd40 works on the leftover stuff after I use elbow grease tomorrow
