where to get new carpet?

i would like to recarpet my car in black. however, i don't want to pay for a premolded kit. i just want some decent lightweight carpet in a 9x7 shape for under a hundred bucks. any suggesstions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a brand new black carpet for a 3rd gen for sale. It came from Year One, but it was never installed.

I guess just go to an upholstery place and get whateve rthey reccomend. I would put it on right over the old stuff, after cleaning the old stuff.

Or, there is a seller on ebay that has molded carpet for $215.

Well, this is what the guy told me. Mostly for sound deadening and ease of installation. It will be much easier to glue the new carpet to the premolded stuff thats already there. The bends and stuff will be a lot easier to manipulate since the original carpet will be sort of 'forgiving'.

Also, you will most likely be buying plain carpet, without any rubber or jute backing. Without the backing, road noise will be a ton louder, and plus, even though it doesn't matter, you would be able to feel all the rough edges of the floorboards and stuff.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes. Oh, and you can just use some 3M spray adhesive when you do it.
