No one makes a funtional air box for that hood. A factory SS air box would probably work BUT they do not work as well as a K&N FIPK...

Does the "intake" flow through to the other side of the hood or would I have to cut?

Hmmm... my friend had one. I am pretty sure the back is open like a cowl and the front is not. Of course you can always cut the front open.

Wait, I was talking about the hood. Are you talking about the hood or SS intake/air box?

Like Mark said... It's going to be a real horse to do what you're trying to do, and there will be no power gain. If you're just doing it for the "hey, neat" factor and you're not worried about spending the money for no gain, then more power to ya.

I wouldn't mess with it though. It's just going to be a gamble, and you'll lose a few horsies that you would have if you just went with a K&N intake.

Yep, cutting it out will open it up to the engine bay only. I doubt that hood is set up to seal around the SS airbox.

It's not set up to take a ram air effect. Think of that hood as just a fancy cowl hood. A lot of clearance and open at the back but no good for a intake.

Re: Where can I get this hood w/an airbox?

Sorry, I didn't realize this thread was about the same hood that I have, otherwise I would've responded sooner. From what I've heard, because of the fact that the back of the cowl is wide open, if you were to cut open the front scoop, you'd literally have a lift effect... the air would rush in through the scoop and straight out through the back of the cowl, pushing up on the cowl itself. It's something I was interested in doing until I heard about that. My idea lately has been to cut open the scoop and then mount a filter directly behind the scoop and use dryer vent tubing to take the air straight to the intake of the engine. I've seen it done on some SS aftermarket hood, I think someone said it was RK Sports ram air model? Not sure. It's an interesting idea, though.

What kind of headlights are those? Or are those the covers that make it look like that?

Who sells those covers?, they look like they might make the car more aerodynamic.

I think those are GTS ProBeam headlight covers. I search for them on ebay every now and then and usually find a carbon fiber tinted version, but I'd prefer a smoked version with the centers regular.
