I think the Mustang's 40th Anniversary Crimson Red is pretty hot.
The Cayenne Red Metallic I believe it is looks pretty darn good on 93-97 Camaro's too though (it's a bright shade of Maroon basically).

Like mine! I love it!! Its the second reason we bought the car (the first was the motor)
1 vote for Cayenne Red Metallic, you don't see too many

I must agree with you on the viper red. One of the reasons Red is so expensive is the "recipe" is usually very complex on a red (several colors make it up) and added with the fact that reds are usually rather transparent, so it takes several coats to get full coverage. Viper red is an unusual red. It's relatively cheap. only contains like three or four colors. I painted my pickup ('85 c-10) viper red. I used ppg products, although Akzo Sikkens is what is used on the viper. AS is a little cheaper, as they price all of their colors the same price, but I found the mixing instructions more difficult to follow, as I've been using ppg for 11 years. The paint job on my truck is several years old, and still looks wet. here's how I did it:
I used a red/brown self etch primer/sealer (dp74) - 2 coats
sprayed 4 coats of base viper red
sprayed 2 coats of "cocktail" 60/40 mix of clear and base to give it depth
sprayed 3 coats of clear (20/20 clear)
I sprayed lots of material, as I intended on wet sanding and buffing, but the 20/20 laid down like glass. at some point, i'll probably buff it but it still looks great. At any rate the cost of the materials was around 600 bucks, but it included all of the body fillers, hi build primers and such.

Do you have any pics of your truck, i was looking around at different colors yesterday and the 1996 corvette TORCH red caught my I and was looking really sweet. I plan on doing not just the single red either viper or torch, I want to add a nice touch of pearl to it. How much of difference will adding a red pearl effect the overall outcome?? Also you said you used a red/brown base coat, what would happen if i used say... a white basecoat, would that make it brighter?
thanks,

no, I used a red brown primer, I used the red base coat. ppg makes a white primer, but its not as good as the red/brown or black. but, you want the red to cover completely, or the finish will look streaked. Viper red is pretty bright. I'll take some pics. red pearl would pretty cool. I wanted to put some house of kolor "kosmic glow" powder. it glows for a while after dark. if you are going to use a pearl, use a house of kolor pearl powder or paste to add in your clear coat. theirs if far superior to any other brand. the only thing with a pearl is, if you need to make a repair due to a fender bender or door ding, in order for the finish to look right, you'd have to repaint the whole side so the pearl is consistant. I didn't go 3 stage with my paintjob on my truck (base/clear/pearl) because it is a daily driver that i knew would eventually see some abuse, and has. It made it much easier to repair
