Re: what hood?

Since I converted my Formula to a '98 up T/A I have had almost the same dilemma. The hoods available are ugly and/or overdone. I have a stock LS1 T/A hood right now and don't like any of the aftermarket hoods enough to pay the $$. I am considering buying a shaker scoop and making a shaker hood.

Re: what hood?

I like the first hood but would'nt want to get caught in the rain with that hood though.
I have a US exotics mild outlaw WS6 hood and I like it alot. Its like a normal WS6 hood at the front but raised 2" at the cowl area.
Heres a link to my cardomain page for some pics

Why? Since when does water hurt a motor? As long as it doesnt get in the intake. Ive seen those hoods too from time to time, and I always wondered why the bulge was bigger on them. I figured it must've been a certain yr/option thing.

.

I know you would'nt get water inside the engine through the hood but there are alot of electrical connections in the engine compartment. When the connections get wet they can rust making a bad connection and then you could end up chasing an electric gremlin which can be on of the most frustrating problems to have to find and fix.
Also it will rust other things in the engine compartment..
I don't know about you guys but I wipe my engine and engine compartment down every couple of weeks.

Re: what hood?

hmm i never gave the problem of rain a thought. that makes my decision maybe a little easier. really like the looks of the 1st 1 though cuz its so unique, but ws6nightmare also mentioned something about quality issues. how bad quality? would the second one be better quality? im assuming its good cuz its SLP.

You really cannot go wrong with either. I like the looks of the second one a lot, but most people who aren't into f-bodies wouldn't tell the difference between that and a ws6. The first one is really nice too and unique. either on is a winner.
