I was looking through popular hot rodding mag and I came across this company that had a custom reverse opening hood latch. So i went online to check it out, and I think its pretty cool check it out Electric-Life It sounds a little rough on the closing but i think its was just a test fit.



You think it would be possible on a LT1 or Ls1?

The link works, but because the file is an avi, I'm guessing you need either a DiVX or XVID codec to view it.

 

Made a quick and dirty avi to gif conversion, so you all could see what the original poster was talking about.
It's rough, but a 500K gif beats a 25 MB avi file.

I like the idea. If I ever get a targa-top conversion and the calloway rear bumper done to my car, that will be my next project. I've researched this idea before and if you seatch, you'd probally find the post. Some main problems I remember having was where to mount the hood latch (considered just using hood pins) and constraints on where and how the hood hinges would mount up, there's not a lot of room in the f-body for this, but if you attempt this idea, I'd like to see it done. Would definatly help me a lot in the future.

when it closes it bangs loud and sounds harsh. A little padding and I think it's a winner.
