What do I need for racing seats?

Hi there all, this is my first post and I just needed some info on some work I wanna get done on my car this summer. I drive a '80 z28 camaro and wanna do some work on the inside of it. I want racing seats and a harness but had a few questions first.

When it comes to the seats, what all do I need? Just the seat and universal slider?

And with the harnesses, whats the difference between snap-in and bolt-in? I also saw some cars with the huge racing harness bar in the back seat to install these, is that necessary or is there a way to install them another way?

If you guys can think of anything else I'll need that'd be great. Don't think I'll be putting these in myself but if you have any tips those'd be great too, thanks.

Re: What do I need for racing seats?

I assume you posted here because you want your car to look good.

From a "racing" perspective, my Kirky seats bolted right up to the stock seat rails. The 5-points are clip ons for the crotch area, and each lap belt. I got loops for the shoulder harnesses as I have a six point welded roll bar.

I have not been very satisfied with the Kirkey seat covers but since my car is primarily race use having a few rips and tears isn't a big deal to me.

Yeah its just for looks, not too much into the racing, would probably blow myself to pieces or something. So when I'm buying the seats all I need is the seat and the universal sliders? And is it necessary to have that roll bar for the harnesses or can you install them differently? (I'm just looking at those seats on ebay for like 200 or 300 bucks)

There are rules for mounting the harnesses "legally", but if you are just doing them for looks, you might be able to make them bolt in where the back-seats bolt down.

Ok sounds good, so if I want it to be legal it has to have that bar in behind the seats? And for the seats I'm wondering if I need a mounting bracket too.
