Question What to do about wheels?

I have silver 10 spoke SS wheels on her now.

I am deciding whether or not to just pick up a spare set ($325) and have them polished ($250) and buy a set of chrome centercaps (about $100) for a total of about $700. That doesn't include the cost of shipping my wheels out to get polished.

Or I could buy a set of the chrome 10 spoke SS wheels from SLP's garage sale section. These are slighty blemished/damaged wheels for $384 shipped + about $100 for the centercaps.

I can probably sell my silver wheels for about $300.

So I would end up paying about $400 for the polish route or $200 for the blemished chrome route.

I know I want either chrome or polished SS 10 spoke wheels.

Unless, of course, a deal for chrome or polished 17x9" wheels comes along that I can't pass up, but I haven't seen anything on the boards or ebay.

What do you suggest?

In my opinion, chrome looks better than polished aluminum. Polished aluminum has a more "whiter" look to the metal, and isn't as mirrory. Theyre also easier to clean.

The disadvantage of chrome, is if the chrome starts to pit or you get a small gask or scratch in the chrome, it will cost a lot of money to rechrome the wheel, whereas with a polished aluminum wheel can just be rebuffed out.

Its your choice. I would probably go with the chrome for the bling factor!

Well, the car sits covered most of the time and only comes out on nice days so I'm not worried about messing the wheels up. That's really not the issue

id go with the chrome wheels from slp. have you looked into getting your silver rims chromed, im guessing it would cost more then the other 2 options but then you get perfect chrome wheels.

Yea, it'd cost more.

I found another set of slightly damaged chrome 10 spokes. 1 has curb rash & another has a couple small cracks. Other 2 wheels are fine. He wants $450, though and I can get a set shipepd from SLP for $384. But I have already seen these and SLP won't allow you to see what you're getting before you buy

I emailed the guy. Hopefully we can work out a deal.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
