Weather Stripping Question..

I have a convertible, and the stupid factory put the weather stripping seal on backwards, its on the outside of the trunk lid instead of being attached on the inside, so it looks rather stupid. I was wondering what can i use to get it off. I've pulled up one corner, and it has this yellow glue that holds it down that doesn't want to come off. What will take it off without ruining the paint?

This is what it looks like now..

And this is what it is supposed to look like

My guess would be to heat it up with a hair dryer and maybe a little dash of goo gone to get off the residue. Then wax and redo the area. When I was doing it on my driver's side door I used just a small hairdryer my gf had and it came off pretty easy. Good luck!

i've read on the convertible forum (which no one ever reads anymore) that there are quite a few that were put on that way, although they had them fixed while it was under warranty, being as mine is a 96, it isn't under warranty anymore, so i'm on my own.
