weather stripping

is it easy to change the weather stripping on the door seal. my driver's side has a teat and when i close the window, the window has a minor space so it leaks. is there a way to fix it with thicker or can i just change it? thanks

Depending on how big the gap is, the window and or the t-top needs to be adjsuted. If your talking about the top weather stripping where the window meets the t-top it is easy to replace but it may not solve the problem, adjust is most likely required.

First take out the t-tops. then you will see two screws on the font peice that the tops look into take them out and pop the peice off. Do the same on the back. Once these are removed the adjustment is self explainitory. The back may be a little more tricky becuase the headliner may have to held out of the way during adjustment. This usually happens more often than not on the pasenger's side.

i just discovered a puddle of water on my passenger side floor. I'm not sure where the water is coming from. Is it coming from through the door weather stripping? Is there a way to find out?

The large amount of water behind the pasenger seat in my car was a result of water running behind the weather stripping that GM does not glue down. Take off the trim and caulk the stripping to the car. solves the problem right away. Check the rear hatch too.

okay i found some little info on my problem, so i hope it would help other people. i found out that may was once totaled, (thanks carfax! ) hence the small gap between the door. so some body guy told me that he would replace my weather stripping with a thicker one and it would fill in my gap. 50 bucks aint bad compared to a whole right side door that my chevy dealership quoted me. Ill find on friday if it does.
