Since the rest of the restoration is just gasket stuff that still has to be done, I went ahead and washed the car and waxed it. I love, love, love Meguiar's wax! Only a 3.75 hour job rather than 6 hours like with that Mother's crap. I can't ever get all the Mother's type off the car and it always dries onto the plastic stuff.
For those that don't know... I bought new wheels and tires. They look great.

Took this pic with the car turned off, so no, the battery isn't dead lol

The guy doing the work on the car was unable to get the stock Camaro A/C control unit brand new, so he got something else that has 2 settings less... kind of unhappy about that. Anybody know what car this came out of?

Clean car! I have not seen stock wheels look that nice in years! Looks nice. What did you use on the dash?
Meguiar wax rocks! I just did mine with Meguiars two weeks ago and was really happy with the results.

I loveeeee those salad shooters. I know a lot of people hate them, but I hit the jackpot when I contacted that guy on craigslist! They are nearly perfect! They have some wheel weight edge damage, but man... they rule. Before the tires were mounted, I spent 5.5 hours cleaning and waxing the wheels. They were absolutely filthy. Those wheels are horribly hard to clean (and wax) so I wanted to do it before they were on the car. I'm glad I did too, they don't even have any paint flaws, it's really surprising!
Now if only I could get someone to buy the old set...
I just use a bucket of water with a few drops of cheap car washing soap and a sponge on the interior. It does a lot better job than any of the wipes or sprays!
Your car looks great! I'm very impressed with Meguiar's. I can't believe people don't rave about it more.

That is correct.
A/C became standard equipment on the RS and Z28 (and SS) starting in the 1996 model year. On the standard 3.8L Camaro, A/C was only available with Aluminum Wheels and the 3800 V6 Performance Package (Option Code Y87).

Weird. I wish I understood A/C systems, because while this allows the A/C to work, it is always on outside air, which is annoying when driving by someone mowing their yard. It's also not very cold, which is likely because it's having to cool 93 degree outside air...
Never used it, but a lot of people swear by this stuff: http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

(different wheels really).
