Wanting to replace rear view mirror courtesy lights with LEDs

How? How do you get the rearview mirror apart properly? I've searched using "LED REAR VIEW MIRROR" but don't get the info I need.
Have any of you done this mod?
Thanks,
Dave

Pretty easy mod but I'm not sure if your mirror is the same as mine. You pop out the plastic lenses, remove the festoon bulbs and replace then with a LED festoon style lamp. Its a great mod and the light output is excellent.

Thanks man but how do you get those out? I've pusheds and pulles on them hoping they's slide out. No luck.

I just changed mine to red LEDs the other day. The easiest way is to take the rear view mirror off, so you actually get a good angle to see the plastic lenses. I just took a flat head screwdriver and popped them out. They just sit in there, but you want to make sure you take your time so you don't break one of the small clips. It's really simple though. Took me about 10mins to swap em out and get the mirror put back up.

Thanks 95Power, I found link somewhere and they said the same thing in regards to the small flathead. I took my lens off, too out the cylindrical bulb, smashed the glass, inserted a bit of wooden dowel (same diameter as the bulb) between the end caps, drilled some holes for the legs of the LED's(4 superbrite White, 2 Blues per side), soldered them together with the proper resistors and pushed the assembly back in place. Looks great!
