I had an old Cadillac with a leather wheel. An upolstery shop wanted $200 to rewrap the wheel with some new OEM quality leather. I think its money well spent since you look at and grip the thing the whole time you drive.

in that case i would rather just find a stocker on ebay and swap it out, but i wanted something that looks more custom. maybe a custom wheel designed to work w/ our airbag maybe?

You dont really have any options there , wanting to keep the airbag . On ebay , you could find a practically brand new leather wrapped 93-99 Camaro steering wheel for alot of times under $50 .
