Very, very, very unusual Camaro--this guy made a targa top

Actually, it's very likely that without the top in, when he goes over bumps and such, his car slowly warps because of it. The unibody wasn't designed to have that T-top bar removed. My dad has a C4 Corvette with targa top, and he says that when he has it out, he can feel a lot of the chassis stiffness is gone.

I think GM used a certain type of heavy duty adhesive to hold the convertibles together as well.

That may be the case, but I do know the convertibles have subframe connectors welded in at the factory. That's why some suspension parts you order must be specified if they are going for a convertible, or a coupe (usually subframe connectors).

I've seen worse. Hopefully those scoops will buff out or something.
I love the targa top, and the interior is interesting... just not that well done. A bit more time spent on it and it would look better.
Props to him, though.

That looks horrible...he has taken that car way too far.
Here is an earlier targa car that I saved from a post on here I think:
I think I remember that this person added some additional support besides the sub-frame connectors.

Isn't that Whistler's car? Don't know if he is still around as I have been gone awhile. I remember a post where he talked about all of the different things he had to do to the frame to compensate for the targa top. First one I had ever seen.

yeah, that's whistler's car...sweet car in my opinion...he was on the board quite a bit a few years ago...he did tons of mods to that car, alot of it custom fabricated.

Bunch of cz28 vets in here. I remember Whistler's Targa conversion- so well in fact that I have vowed that I too, will someday do the same thing to my car, regardless of the time, price, and effort that it takes. His was so well done, and even more rare than the T-top conversion.
I have just started restoring my 93 T/A starting with the engine. Once I have finished working on the internals, I'm shifting focus to the interior, then finally- The Targa. A long way away but just too sweet and unique to pass up.
