updated the interior a bit

What a better way to spend the weekend than with your car?

First of all, got a two-step working now...so fun to play with. Need a clutch then I'll get back to the track, but here's a quick vid messing around..

http://www.pcmforless.com/images/crap/2step2.mov

I switched from that awful cloth to black leather trans am seats...WOW are they nice, and so comfortable...they hug me when I sit down lol. I didn't want to buy new leather door panels though, so I made them...here's the comparison of the stock vs. my new leather.

And then...

I was getting a little fed up with my stock CD player, it skips over every little bump, so I figured it was time for a new one. I was just after something simple that plays mp3s & burnt CDs, and was XM/Sirius ready. I wanted something cheap in case it gets stolen...what can I say, I'm practical.

I got an audiobahn unit since the blue matches the blue LEDs I have behind the gauges great..

I installed that... it looks like this:

I like it because it's mostly black, and blends with the surrounding interior (unlike the bright silver units, which I was afraid would stick out like a sore thumb).

At night, it matches the gauges perfect!! Ohhhh it's so bad.

But that made my headlight assembly & HVAC stick out like a sore thumb, since they still had plain bulbs. So yesterday I soldered in some more LEDs/resistors, so everything matches now, minus the ASR/foglight switch, which i'll tackle today. It looks stellar in person but the camera doesn't pick it up too well:

Here's the antenna atop the car...

And XM is neat, so far. Love having so many channels!!

Yeah I've been busy.

Why do you need him to do that? you can buy LEDs at www.superbrightleds.com They have 194 bulbs which will do your cluster, and you can get #74 bulbs which will do the hvac, and door panels. The only one that needs a little work is the headlight switch. I just took one of my spare #74 bulbs and soldered it in.

I like the antennae, I want to take mine off, then bondo and paint the whole that it leaves so it looks like there was nothing there.

The door panels look much better but you should switch to some TA's, they are awesome.

Thumbs up Re: updated the interior a bit

Nice work! Those door panels really make a big difference on the overall look of the interior.

Your car is very nice. Did you buy your ground effects, or were you one of the lucky people that got them from the factory?

I stopped by the GM dealer I used to work for last week, and the employee price on just one of the front pieces is around $300

Where did you get the leather for the doors, and how do you do that? Those look amazing, nice work.

Re: updated the interior a bit

I bought the fabric from a local re-upholstery fabric shop (where people buy stuff for curtains, sofas, etc) and just recovered the cloth part by tucking it under...believe it or not it holds it very tightly that way.

Yes my car came with GFX from the factory...if you want a set you're better off buying them on eBay or on a forum, they are too expensive from the factory.
