I want to keep the CAI if possible, and not use the ram air. However, in the SLP parts catalog it says the ultra Z air box is REQUIRED. Anyone want to clarify this?? THanks

 

The air box is only required if you want the scoop to be functional, your CAI will be fine to use.

i have the ultra z hood and used to have the air box but it took it out to put in a k&n CAI, there is no reason you cant. i like it anyways nonfucntional cause it just pulls air in to thew engine bay and circulates it better. my car runs cooler now on the move. i dont like the way the engine is so far under the cowl so this helps with circulation
