Trans am light shaking....???

i have a 95 TA, it has a bad front bearing that i know i need to replace but just a small part of the problem i think.the headlights shake on bumps and high speeds on the highway. you can't physically see the light assembly itself bouncing but the beam is noticeable. any ideas on what this could be?

Re: Trans am light shaking....???

I had that problem with my 95 formula , the problem was that the rivit to the headlight pannel that holds the headlight support cable (when the light is up) was loose, I fixxed it by taking out the screw that holds the cable to the light assembly and put in a bunch of washers (4) to take up the slack

Its kinda of tight working quaters and sort of teadious but its alot better than having shaking headlights, also youll prolly have to reaim your headlights after your done

Re: Trans am light shaking....???

are u referring to the steel braded cable underneath the entire assembly? thats the only one i can see to be loose or close to what you describe.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to check that out myself. I've noticed the same thing, and wasn't sure how to go about fixing it. Thanks!

Re: Trans am light shaking....???

no problem guys, instead of washers you could use a bushing or nut to take up space

Re: Trans am light shaking....???

id just be careful on using to big of nut or washer to fill the space. when i did mine i used a washer that was too big and my light housing wouldnt even fit back on. but like he said you will have to recalibrate the beam. my left one is almost 4ft to the left of center.....
