Hey guys,

Well about a month ago I ordered a big block hood from an f-body parts store online. It was supposed to arrive in 3 weeks, and the last day of the 3rd week, they call and say "the manufacturer won't ship it". So I was pissed, but whatever... I got my money back.


The day after I called ASCD directly and ordered a 93-97 firebird/trans am big block hood over the phone. The lady told me "don't trust stupid internet companies, buy directly from us". She said it'd be here in 2 weeks. The last day of the 2nd week came by, and my credit card still wasn't charged. I called numerous times, no answer. After about another week of constant calling / e-mails, 'Rex' replies and says "Sorry we're backed up and aren't accepting new orders"......HELLO!?!? YOU ALREADY ACCEPTED MY ORDER.

To be honest, as unprofessional as that was, I don't even care. I just want a big block hood for my TA lol. Every internet store I call / e-mail goes directly through ASCD, hence no hood. Does anyone know an internet dealer that will still ship them? Or maybe even someone on the board that is lookin to sell theirs?

Fiberglass Fabricators, Inc (through ebay) is who I went with when I bought mine (granted, it's a Camaro, but if they make it for the Camaro I'm guessing theres a good chance they have it for the TA?). It took them longer than their estimated time, but they did get it out and the quality was good. fitting it on the first time (first time I've EVER fit a bodypanel on, at that) and it only took 5 minutes to get it right.

Hmmm... just me, or is it a bad sign that Rex is selling ASCD's mold for the hood?

But anyways, count Rex/ASCD out as I mentioned before, they won't ship any new orders for a long time.

 

I'm actually quite curious as to what's REALLY going on. Last time I heard about Rex, he was selling off all of his molds, the ASCD building, and the rights to his company. I don't know if anyone bought it or not, so it seems really weird if people are still ordering if he sold quite a few of his molds and building.

 

ASCD was even for sale on ebay there for a while.
