traded in the 97 lt1,ls1 convertible questions?

Well I fianally went to the dark side. I am picking it up tommorrow. It is a 2000 ws6 convetible. It seems a hell of alot faster than my 97 from the test drive I really didn't get to stay on it but I hear these motors come alive up top. I hear the convertibles are a little slower. I actually went to buy a new GTO and drove it but then I saw this car just sitting and figure what the hell. Anyways this car could demolish the GTO I drove and the drop top added the extra cool factor. Any suggestoins on mods or anything else I should know about owning one of these? Does it take anything special to clean the convertible top? And last I noticed on the passenger side when the top goes down it overlaps the inner molding. The other side goes on the outside of the interior. Which side is right? I ask the dealer and they had no clue?

a little soap & water to clean the top. As far as the folding goes that shouldn't really matter as long as it folds down smoothly.

verts are about 150-200 pounds more, but they can still be made plenty fast, they catch attention much better as well. I used some profesional top cleaner and oil to protect hte top. I think the stuff is called 405 or 407 some kind of number in it. You will find both at any auto place like autozone, they run about 6 bucks for hte cleaner and 10 for the oi protectant, which works very well, you can very much tell that the protectant is there as its darker and makes all hte water just fall right off instead of absorbing in the top.

Soap's OK for the vinyl top, don't use it for the cloth ones (all colors apart from white). Clean water and a soft brush, plus I find it ends up cleaner looking if I wick the water off using an absorbent cloth or a sponge rather than letting it dry.
