top speed and gauges
top speed and gauges
hey i was watching High Rev Tuners today on speedvision. ya i know so shoot me for watching it. anyways i saw this honda , think, well they were going on about these holes in the rear bumper. they said it reduced the swirl in the air behind the car created by the spoiler. in so doing this they got less resistance and higher top speed. is thier any truth to this? cause i know i have that same swirling air behind my car. right after i wash it thier is dit all over the back end.
where do i get different gauges for the car. i like the reverse glo gauges do they make them for the car

and can I ask what guages has to do with this?
does anyone know what holes/vents im talking about. or has anyone seen them. im really interested. abou tthe top speed thing ya i want more top speed, its like a drug but better cause if it fails me i get to kill other people on the street too.
im just kidding
i think it would also imporve my gas milage, any aerodynamic impovement would give that to me, i do alot of long distance driving.
what hondas are doing with wings im not sure but thier are alot of enxplainable things out thier

It's the poor man ricer (Cheep Ma Noe Nuttn) diffuser. Behind our vehicles is an area of low pressure and high pressure meeting each other, however there is flow seperation from our hatch's to the spoiler because of the sudden change in angle for the air to follow. Couple this with the untidy air coming from below the car and you have what is called drag. I wouldn't worry about it though... it takes a hella of a lot more than drilling holes to solve aerodynamic problems unless your a building traveling at 100mph.
Cheep Ma Noe Nuttn probably compounded his problem because now he has a million different patches of air flapping around more than his mouth... clean aero is good aero.
