Question Tonneau cover*vert* in a hard top--is it possible

I was thinking about it, since i am doing my rear seat delete anyways how possible would it be to put the convertable tonneau covers, in a hard top? Like are the measurements WAY different or what? would it be possible that they could fit anywhere, and then i get another big of fiberglass molded to go in the hatch area...

or is all of what i speak, impossible?

I'm sure it would be possible...but the question is why? I think it would REALLY, REALLY look out of place..

lol, i get the same responses sometimes JP..

you ask a technical question and get an all-the-opinions-u-can-eat buffet.

anyhoo.. i am right now working on something like what you are talking about but for my vert..

the tonneau cover kit that you can buy not only comes in two pieces, but is plenty too wide to use. you would have to trim a bunch off of each side, not to mention matching up the lines with that extra bit you were talking about fabbing up in the rear area. so yea, you could use it.

i believe that your best bet would be to create a model, reverse mold it, then fab it up with something light and strong. especially since you don't want it to weigh a bunch.

what are your plans? are you looking to include an enclosure for a sub in the project? storage bins?

Re: Tonneau cover*vert* in a hard top--is it possible

yea i am not 100% sure on anything im doing with it, I really dont want to do fiberglass, and especially not if i have to cut the covers in the first place but rather plastic

here is what i have done so far to my car*appearance wise that is*:
z06 white 18's w/ 275/40/zr18
white racing stripes*vents back*
white pillar birds, white bumper birds*front and back*
tail light black outs
3rd brake light is also blacked out
clear corners*front and back*
wings west flushmount spoiler
white trans am emblems
white racing seats
black interior w/ white accents
intake manifold powdercoated black
valve covers powdercoated white
white hose/wire covers*engine bay*

heres whats coming:
custom white fuel rail covers
all audiobahn 6 1/2's, 4's, tweets, and 2 subs
4 audiobahn amps 2 4channels, 2 monos
clarion in dash
and(to answer your question)...
i want a custombox for the back seat, but am contemplating the q-logic box and am not sure of exactly what i am going to do i wish i knew someone who wanted to fab up a big plastic or fiberglass piece
i think im just going to have to get back their and make my own box

truely it is a car that you have to see to appreciate, both american muscle car lovers, and import kids give it a second look and normally look something like this i will get pictures of it as soon as it runs again which its damn near been a year i miss the torque
