Tips for painting driverside mirror
Tips for painting driverside mirror
My dad hit the garage with his Mercury Sable so i'm replacing the driverside mirror. I already bought mirror off the net for $70 and it is black plastic. To paint it I plan on a few coats of flexible primer sanding inbetween each coat then like 12 light coats of his body color followed by 6 light coats of clear. For the sand paper I was going to use 120 grit at first then work down to 400 grit before actually adding the body color paint. Can help one give me some advice on my painting technique, am I ok or should I do something differently?
thanks,
Mark

How do you know that your gonna get the same exact color as the car. Just ask a body shop to shoot it for you. what color is the car. the body shop may have that color already mixed from another car they painted.
Pepboys sells the exact color, you just have to find the color code of the car (which I believe is located in the doorpanel). That will give me the same color, and it will be alot cheaper then a body shop. Its just a side mirror, i'm not looking to put alot money into it.
