Has anyone tinted their 3rd brake light with that vht nite shades before. I did my tail lights, side markers, and 3rd brake light. They all look good except my 3rd brake light. It just like melted the plastic and made alot of cracks on the surface. So now im going to have to buy a new one because it looks like crap.

 

i have had this happen before you can reuse the lens by sanding the nite shades off with a scuff pad,soak the lens in soapy water,rinse and let dry over nite use a clean paper towel and some rubbing alcohol then paint it again should come out nice and smoothe

 

I just used regular gloss black. I did 3 coats of the black and about 6-8 of clear. It come out great except during the day it was hard to see but at nite there was no problem.

 

You could get a 3rd brake light decal from Brent. They are similar.
