Tint, Texas, and prices

I'm looking to get a pretty dark tint on my camaro, but Ive got a few questions (as always)

is tint measured by how much light gets through it? or how much darker the windows are?

whats the legal limit in texas? 25%? how big of a difference is 5% and 25%?

whats a reasonable price for a good tint job? (2 side windows and hatch)

anyone know of any good places to get my car tinted (in houston) ?

right now I have 0 tint on my rear and side windows.

I believe its 25% for the 2 windows and as dark as you want (5%) for the hatch.

Look at my car, I have 5% all around! it just looks great. In Laredo where I live the cops really don't care. When I go to S.A. though I have to keep em rolled down during the day.

For a good job I would say $150 or less. I paid $160 and the hatch is just one piece of film, not 2 pieces like most do it.

$150 for passenger, driver and hatch?

The only reason I don't want 5% is because I've ridden in a few friends cars that have 5% and limo tint and you cant see out of it at night, I don't want to have problems like that.

Yea 5% looks good, but its not really practical.

btw nice wheels, I have those black z06s without rivets on my pewter metallic camaro

I don't want it to peel and bubble =[

any vehicle made before 1988 can have whatever tint you want, the inspector can NOT test your windows for tint if your vehicle was manufactured before 1988, as far as 1999 you can only go down to i think it was last time i did an inspection was 25% not sure

I ended up getting 30% on my side windows and 15% on the hatch, got it done at tomball tinters.

looks great, was $150 out the door, lifetime warrantee.

BUT I found out that my window guides are broken...

the felt buckle things are broken off so.. I need to find the part # so I can get them replaced.
