Time to play with a convertible - mostly appearance mods

I picked up a pewter '99 Z-28 convertible (A4) to use as a daily driver. Performance mods will be minor -

SLP airlid, MAF, smooth bellow, BBK throttlebody, Direct Hits ignition, Predator programmer, SLP 1.85 rockers and a 2800 Vigilante converter. I want this one to be quiet so the exhaust will be staying stock.

Appearance mods will include -

Suncoast Creations SS hood
Wings West front airdam
Wings West Grill insert painted to match
Clear corner lights
HID low beams and lower driving lights
White face 200MPH speedo
Custom leather seats
Power antenna
18x10.5” Chrome Z06 wheels all around wrapped with Nitto 555 Extreme tires
Painted calipers
Hotchkis STB
and maybe a set of Hotckis springs to lower it 1".

I test fit the wheels/tires and wouldn't mind closing up the gap but I don't want to have to creep over every speed bump and driveway I find.

I'll post some pictures when it's finished.

man i think the first appearance/performance mod i would do if i owned a convertable would be a nice roll bar. for some reason i think it just looks badazz to see the top down and an authentic functioning (anyone see the "show" cage in the sport compact section of Summit?) roll bar.

just a though...

anxious for some pics

I'm going to test fit the wheels/tires today to decide if I want to lower the car or keep the stock springs. I usually tell people that they have to think more when driving a lowered car so I want to be able to drive this one without thinking

I agree, the of a roll bar is a good idea. I personally have the RkSport light bar on mine and I continuously get positive comments on the way it looks. It really breaks up the lines of the car with the top down. Not for structural support though ....just for looks.

Nice ride! Never loose those tonneau covers. GM is VERY proud of those. They are about $400.+ to replace the set.
