Those of you who have done the t-top conversion and are willing to help

Is their anyone who would be willing to help me convert my 93 hardtop to t-tops. I live in ohio so red blur is kind of out of the question but those of you in indaina that have done it or even if your in ohio not sure of any but if you would be willing say in june or early july I could really use your help. I'm fine with cutting the roof I just dont know how to fiberglass and mud to make them fit correctly. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks Kyle

you would probably be better off replacing your car with a t-top car and transfering all of your existing mods over..i know people have done the conversion but i dont think it will ever be "correct"

Re: Those of you who have done the t-top conversion

I know but I LOVE MY CAR! I have the greenish blue paint which I belive is sort of rare because I don't see to many with the same color and plus I have way to many memories with it. The car has been in my family since new. The only part that troubles me is that 93 t-tops weren't an option yet so I want them really really bad. I've already made my mind up and have attained the testicular fortitude to cut the roof and supports I just need hwlp w/the fiberglassing and bondoing.

if you were closer, Id help you out.

Just take you time, and be carefull, and plan ahead on all of your cuts.

Mine has been done for about a year now, and I love it to death, and I would do it all over again. Doesnt leak for the most part either

Thanks man. If I get desperate I might just have to take you up on your offer. A bit of a drive though.

Re: Those of you who have done the t-top conversion

i did it the other day and it took me 2.5 hours tops. Its not hard at all if you have the right tools. to do it in the time i did it you need Saw zaw (saber saw), good drill and bits to drill out the spot welds, Dremel tool with flex shaft for fine tuning the finished cuts, hammer for bending the metal to match the channel, pint of bondo, tube of glasing putty, and 2 tubes of silicone to seal the gaps befor bondo. when working with the bondo just take your time and if you mess up you can always use more bondo. qstart cutting the bondo with 80 grit and once your real close to where you want it to be switch the paper over to 220 grit and then use the glasing putty to cover the whole area with a thin layer and then wet sand that with 600 grit and let dry. then spray with high build primer again sand with 600 grit and let dry then tape up all paited surfaces and glass and rubber. then spray with gloss black. let that coat flash (see time on can) then spray a second coat let flash then repete this process with clear 3 times.

Where in Ohio are you located? I've thought about the conversion but not sure about it yet. If you do yours, I'd appreciate the opportunity to watch.

I live in Radnor which is north of Delaware. I was thinking of going to a junk yard and cutting the roof of a hard top for a practice run. If you want you could help/watch or whatever.

It's easy, just go at it. Once you get the plastic roof off, it'll be obvious how to do it.

Its the fiberglassing and the bondoing that I am having trouble with. I have no idea how much fiberglass to put on and how far over to fiberglass.
