those with tint...help!

Well, I had my windows tinted a few days ago, 20% all the way around. The back hatch has what appears to be about a 2" wide white strip across the top. It's where the tint was layed over the raised dots on the top of the back glass. I thought it would start to go away by now and all the solution underneath would have dried up after sitting in the hot *** sun for several days. Those of you with tint on the back glass...did this happen to you? If so, how long did it take to go away?

Thanks

That is a notorious problem with our cars. Many shops will actually just put a strip of vinyl over them rather than tint. Usually when it stays like that, you need to take it back to them so they can use a heat gunt and try to squigy the rest out or redo it.

Take it back to the tint shop and see if they can get the tint to fill in between the dots. Otherwise, have them put a vinyl strip on or live with it.

Thanks for the input everyone. I called my tint guy and he said he could do the vinyl strip over the dots. Too bad he didn't tell me about it before he tinted the windows...

If he likes money and continued business from you or anyone you might refer, he should take care of it at no cost to you. You paid for a service to be done that he was unable to complete to your satisfaction.

It will happen over and over again. I took it back and they squeegeed it and it still got little air pockets. Its almost inevitable i just live with it.

Well if he wants to charge me extra for taking the tint off and applying the vinyl strip, i can tell you that he won't be getting any good referral's from me at all. But i guess you get what u pay for...$100 and everything looks great besides the top of the back glass.

Hmm, while Ive heard the horror stories mine came out fine... Pretty much do what they all said above or take it to a guy that really knows what he's doing. The guy that tinted mine specialized in Camaros.
