Those with Black Cars

I have a black ss. Was lookin into my engine bay the other night with a light, and i noticed there was spots where a gray primer and other green paint wasn't completely covered. All of a sudden i thought the previous ownere had damaged it without reporting. But when i questioned it to a friends black 2000 ss. We found the same areas. Look near the hood latch and down inside by the windshield washer container. Bad painting on gms part? Just wonderin if anyone else had the same issues or just a black car thing.

Funny you should mention this...I noticed the same thing in the beginning of this year. Brought the Z out of the garage, cleaned her up and noticed green paint in various spots. Hmmm

So it does happen on cars other than black also. lol, I was so freaked out that carfax had not found an accident for mine. O well, thanks to those who commented. Guess being the way the cars are built. gm couldn't get the paint all the way in.

Those are "minor imperfections" you'll find with ANY car. Look around in the door jams, under the hood, bottom of the doors etc. They don't quite get the paint everywhere.

I saw a documentary on T.V. once where this guy restores old Corvettes and INTENTIONALLY makes blemishes and minor tweaks to the cars he restores, so they look JUST LIKE they would (and did) when they came off the factory line. He charges a PREMIUM for his work.
