I just put blackouts on my tail lights and would like to do someting to my third brake light. Has anyone ever tried to tint the outside of the lense? If so how did it come out. Do you have any other ideas on what to do. I would like to keep it black because my car is white so I'm going for Black and white no red or orange. Thanks for any advice.

You could just tint your back window.

 

Sorry i forgot to put in there its on a 2002 Z28. and the windows are tinted.

basically, he tinted it but he used flat black paint
for the light to still shine through (to stay legal) i would suggest just getting some limo tint or something maybe

 

Use VHT Nightshade spray from Summit. It's spray tint.. Works great and the light comes though fine as long as you don't put a rediculous amount of coats on.

 

I can make a vinyl decal for ya with a logo in it.

 

you can buy tinting paint at any hobbie store. they use it on rc cars. i did it on my saturn

 

well see what me and my bro did was took out my back tailights and used some cheap special spray paint and tapped off the reverse lights and then put like 3 coats on the brake lights and then we noticed the 3rd brake light so we did the same with that one and it turned out nice...ill find out what paint it was and let you know

 

Just like Slayer said use VHT nightshades. Thats what we put on Jonas's car, my bro post right above this. Yeah it turned out really good!
