Tasteful neon...

Is there such a thing? I saw a black Z28 with red underbody neon, and for the first time, I actually thought it looked ok. Anyone here got neon under their car? I'm a very big anti-rice freak, so it's very strange for me to have found it looking decent. I just wanted to see how many guys on here have put neon on their cars. Majority of cars I see look stupid with it. But you never know...

Re: Tasteful neon...

i have them in the interior of my car.. under the dash on both sides where your feet are.. they're hidden well and look really good imo. i don't think i'd ever put them under my car tho. waste of damn money.. especially since they're illegal and the only time you can have them turned on is when in your driveway or a freakin parking lot. it's just pointless. which to me, is the meaning of rice

Jumbo shrimp is not an oxymoron. Large, jumbo, massive, etc. are all relative since they are not designated sizes. So jumbo shrimp are large compared to regular shrimp.

I saw a white saab with green LED "neons". Looked absurd. The end.

it's only an oxymoron if you're using shrimp as an adjective (for small, puny, tiny, etc). otherwise, it isn't.

as for the neons, they will attract eyes. if anything, throw them into your interior to make your lighting dramatic. undercarriage neons are illegal and not worth the trouble.

Re: Tasteful neon...

It's one of those personal opinion things. I have bleu LED's and neons on the inside of my car. I did some work for a friend and he gave me a set of Blue underbody neons. He for free I thought I would try them. I don't drive around with them on all the time, but the do look good and have had compliments from other F-body owners. I think it depends on how you do them and the colors.
But saying that, My car is probably what alot of people would consider rice, TA door panels, LT1 style taillights, Halo's, Fake dual exhaust, painted interior, Neons, LED's.
I think it all looks good, but if alot of it's on an import it's Rice. You make your own decision.

Re: Tasteful neon...

I've got red tubes next to each of the front seats, between the sills and seats. They light up the doors and roof at night, and they compliment my light up shifter (www.flameball.com). I had some in the footwells, but I couldn't get them to light right, so I abandoned that idea. They're not distracting, and give off a good lighting effect.

he just means to stay away from popular ricer trends (which often involve neons). a tasteful neon definitely isn't rice, but if you're bordering your license plate with them and sticking them all over your windshield... then THOSE neons are definitely rice.

Re: Tasteful neon...

I always thought blacklight neon would look good on a black car. Nice and subtle, yet probably still eyecatching.

I also dont see neon as rice... as long as its not overdone, and done tastefully, and on car that is not an econobox.
