tan leather interior to black leather

How much does everyone think it would cost? How much work would be involved with switching out the carpet

it just depends on much you get the parts for, I've been switching mine over to, only thing left is the seats.

Are you looking to buy seats? A year or so ago my local dealer could still buy brand new seats, and they were somewhere between $1k and $2k, closer to $2k. I had mine reupholstered for $1300.

Used, you could probably find seats for a few hundred, and carpet should only be a couple hundred, but these are just guesses.

I just redid the whole interior in my 97 Z28 yesterday. I went to a car show and found a guy who took the whole interior out of a 00 SS when it was brand new to have custom stuff done. Had it sitting around in his garage. Bought it all for 400. Leather and whole interior looks like it just rolled out of the show room. Carpet goes in in about 10 min. Super easy once you get everything out of the car. I had 3 guys helping and we did it in about 4 hours.

Thanks guys. What do you all think about switching to black leather, but leaving everything else tan? This is all on a 2001 SS interior.

Thumbs up

Two-tone is what should have been an option from factory anyway. I did it and get nothing but compliments on how good those colors look together. I did all the trim and seats in ebony and left the carpet tan.

They did have a tan/black interior in the 01-02 Firebirds. Good looking swap, I did the swap in my TA a couple years ago. Was worth it, best bet is to buy it all at once from some one parting out a car.

You can dye the tan leather black. They make leather dye, check hobby lobby. My old roommate dyed his gray leather black and it turned out very nice.

Do you have any pictures of your interior that you could send me?

Carpet is probably the cheapest way to massively change the appearance of your interior. For $200 to $300, you can completely change the way your car looks, and if you buy the luxury type of carpet, completely change the way your car feels.

I don't know about you, but I don't spend much time rolling around on the carpet of my cars.

Well, the cheapest thinnest carpet known to man was in my old Corolla, and switching to a car with actual padding definitely helped my feet feel better...

I was sitting in a Maserati GranTurismo a couple of weeks ago, and luxury carpet sure feels nice and soft on your feet.
