TA vert spoiler options
TA vert spoiler options
I'm thinking about buying a 1996 T/A convertible. but the only thing i dont like is the flat spoiler. are their any options out there for me to change to? ive looked around but found nothing, just a ad on which still looks like crap.
has anyone made anything custom for their vert?
thanks

Yep, there's a whole lot of nothing you can do about that. Unless you want to put one on top of you flat one, which looks like crap. Ive seen a guy botch up a 2002 SE TA real bad like that.
I wonder what a convert would look like with a regular TA spoiler/ or even if you could do it.

You'll pretty much have to competely custom make a new decklid for the TA spoiler to work (unless you just bolt it onto the existing decklid which IMO would look like crap). But if you're up for the project go for it. You would be one of, if not the first person to pull it off I think.
i found this one but it doesnt say who makes it, and not too good of a pic. but it looks to be better than the wings west spoiler that was available

There was a add-on spoiler that gave the convertibles the same look as the high-rise spoiler, but it was discontinued in mid '95...
I originally placed an order for a convertible, until I found out I could not get the high-rise spoiler... So I got a T-Top car instead (ordered per my specs back in december of '94 as a '95 model)...
Then, a few months after I took delivery of my T/A, I was looking for mods and found the high-rise add-on and was totally PISSED!!!
About 3 years later I contemplated picking up a low-mileage '95 convertible and adding the spoiler, but during my search at that time found out they only made like 20-25 of them and they were no longer in production... So I passed on the convertible and kept my car...

mecham is who makes that spoiler ...they have them at fbody but they just go over top of the original and you have to fiberglass it ...but it looks even better in person (so to speak) i have wanted one but never got one yet ....
if i end up with a T/A convertible i will order one of the mecham spoilers for it. and if i get a LT1 stly car i'm going to do the front end conversion. hopefully i can find a nice one for a decent price.
