TA SideMolding Discoloration Fixed!!!
I work at a Mercedes Dealership and talked to the head guy in the detail shop asking him to buff up some light scratches on my car. Well, he did, but he also noticed my yellowish (discolored white) side moldings.
Mind you every weekend I have been planning on rippin' those ugly things off. Well, he said he could easily clean that up and took some lacquer thinner (102) to a rag, swiped it clean and white as hell again I guess that saved me the time of pulling them off and contemplating $150 worth of new molding.
He says that this isn't sold in stores (too toxic) or something like that. It didn't mess up my paint, but he said to make sure I use the 102 grade. And very important: don't leave a rag soaked with any of this thinner on your car or it'll do some damage. He wouldn't let me keep the stuff. But I know where to go now. He also said it could be found in some paint stores FYI.
Note: I have a WHITE car, I didn't ask whether or not it does the same for all colors. If yall want me to get that info I can.
