Lightbulb TA dash in Camaro

I was wondering the TA dash (and all accessories) would be a direct swap with a camaro dash.

I've seen it done but I am not sure whats needed.

Any feedback is greatly appricated.

Re: TA dash in Camaro

its easy , i did it in one night ! the only thing you have to rewire is the guage cluster witch is color for color just switching the plug so it will fit the trans am cluster , you alos have to rewire the foglight switch and the rear defrost thats it when it comes to the wireing , its easy and looks badass i recomand getting a complete trans am dash so you will have all the plugs to do the proper rewireing ,airducts the dash pad and so forth ,allthe switches....................its easy just get everything to do it first then start the conversion

good luck

Kev, i'm gonna do this swap i believe. I have a hook up to get a complete 93 TA dash. I'm just wondering can you reuse the Camaro Radio. I've talked to another guy that says you need a TA radio but i don't see why the Camaro radio wouldn't fit. I don't want to lose my Bose setup. Also how long did it take for you to do this swap start to finish? i want a ball park figure on how long it will take. Thanks

Re: TA dash in Camaro

first off you can use any ac delco cd / radio player and the conversion itsself only to me about 4 - 5 hours, the only thing i had to change wire wise was the guage cluster , rearview defrost and foglight switches but the guage cluster is color for color , wire for wire its easy. bottom line just got out there and do it and it will be done in no time

Re: TA dash in Camaro

how tough was it to remove your dash? ive had most of the components out, but never been close to having the entire dash out. how did the air bags adapt?

Re: TA dash in Camaro

Ok thanks a lot Kev. I looked into doing this before and talked to a guy that did it he told me the wiring was a nightmare and that the AC ducts were a pain so he just deleted the AC and only half way wired things up as his car was not a daily driver. I'm glad to see it can be done and i can keep my Bose. I was just given a complete 93 TA dash today, so i hope to install it over the winter break. Thanks for your info.
