T-top effect on tint?

Do think having t-tops would allow for darker tint on the sides.
I'm saying a t-top letting in some light campared to a hardtop?
The law in Wisconsin is 50%, I want to sneak by with 35%. What you think?
I've heard of people opening their windows a crack to let some light in, making the side window appear to be lighter.. I was going off that theory with the t-tops letting some light in..
I have a 94 Z28 and i got my windows tinted with a friend who has a 97 SS hardtop. We both got our windows tinted to 35%, and with me having t-tops you can definately tell that his is darker. I plan on getting mine redone to 20% to make it look better cause my back window is 2%.
I'm not sure everyone knows exactly what you're asking....hopefully I know.
(bthompson seems to have the idea though.)
I have 20% on the front, and 5% on the back. I do not use the covers for the T-Tops, and on a sunny day you can see fairly well into my Z regardless of the tint, it makes it look as though the tint is lighter than what it really is, say like 35%.
At night, its very difficult to see inside the car, especially from an angle.
I had 35% tint originally, but decided to go darker. 35% during the day is barely noticeable.
