I've been looking for a new hood for my '97 t/a. I'm looking into either a big block hood or a shaker hood. I have a couple questions though. First, does anybody know if the big block hoods are functional, like a cowl hood? Second, I can't find a place where I can get a shaker hood from. I've seen them so I know somebody makes them, but I can't find one. I've searched these messages and found a couple links, but none of them work. If anyone knows of a place let me know...

If your talking about the big block stinger hood from suncost, yes its functional. As far as the shaker hood, i've only seen one ever on a 4th gen and i think it was a custom job. Not sure where you can get one.

TA Kid, is the Warbird hood that you have functional? I love the look of those hoods, but I want to make my TA ram air and don't like the Suncoast hoods too much.

 

I just ordered a Ram Air II hood from carhoods.com. It is on it's way as we speak. I'll try to post some pics when i get it painted and mounted. The price was pretty good... so we'll what happens! Good luck!

theres a 6 banger bird around here with a shaker.. looks stupid IMO

 

The grill inlets on the hood are already precut, I got myine from US Exotics, US body does not precut the hood for fuctional ramair.
IF you want the hood from US Exotics functional you must get a K&N Fipk CAI ( or however you spell it)
IF you get one go with Us Exotics.
