Thumbs up Sylvania Silverstars

i installed a couple silverstar sealed beam stock replacements on my trans am just yesterday and just got back from a long night drive home

not only is the color whiter and sharper, but the spread is also more even across and further down the road.

i was skeptical the $50/pair would be worth the cash over stock $30/pair replacements, but i'd highly recommend these to anyone who does a good amount of night driving

Did you have to replace the whole headlight assembly? Or is it just the bulb?

our headlights are sealed beam lamps (x/c LS1 camaros) so you replace the entire bulb and housing together, not just the bulb, mine were #H4666ST.

it's a piece of cake, (firebirds) take off dustcap & manually open the flipups (see manual), remove plastic housing, then headlamp bracket, unplug, swap, put it all back! enjoy your brighter, whiter lighting

note: silverstars aren't anywhere near BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc. HID headlights, but they are a good improvement over standard halogens

silverstar bulbs are a ripoff

The housing replacement might be an improvement over stock though.

.. true, silverstar sealed beams could show more improvement over stock than silverstar bulbs for once, flipups win! yay

sweet. xtravisions are good pieces too, had 'em on my '91... shelled out a few more for the silverstars this time around (my wallet is now officially empty; yes i am that poor, haha)

replaced the burnt out fogs today too went w/ standard cheapo bulbs b/c i figure fogs won't improve much as long as i keep stock housing

My buddy has them on a couple of his cars. And he said they made a great improvement. I gave him crap about the blue output, but otherwise they seemed to work really well.
