Be sure to check your new wheels

My new AFS GS replica wheels went on a balancer today. Since I won't be installing them immediately I wanted to check them so I wouldn't have any unpleasant surprises when the time to install them arrives.
Out of 4 wheels, one was about 1/8" out of true and one had a nick on the lip. Both will be going back to AFS for replacement. I'm really glad I checked!

Yeah replica wheels don't have a great reputation.

I got mine from AFS in good condition, but they had no center caps. It took me four weeks to get them to ship them to my house.

OMG, that is something I don't need to hear, I have some chrome ZR-1s w/Kumho tires on the way from AFS wheels. I won a auction on ebay and got them more than half off of what SLP sells their chrome ZR1s for. I hope that kind of stuff is pretty rare.
I did post on this board checking the for the reputation of AFS wheels before I bought them and I got all positive reviews from the people that posted.

Well, I don't know about a bad reputation. The one wheel of mine that had a nick on the rim was otherwise fine and the one out of true was not terrible. And they were very inexpensive. I expect AFS to take care of the problem and I will have nothing bad to say about them.

Update: My replacement wheels arrived this week and I had them checked today. Both checked out fine.
AFS customer service was excellent to deal with. I would not have any qualms about buying wheels from them again.

I've had my ZR-1s on since Sept. 18th and they've been just fine. The chrome finish is perfect. Also the tires were properly balanced I am very happy with my purchase.
