Hey guys,
Well after talkin to Chad about it, I deicded I would give it a try, and started wrapping a few pieces in Carbon. I'll get more pics over Thanksgiving break, should have the majority of things done....

Just taking a stab here but is it like laying fiberglass(Lay down mat apply resin over top and let dry)? If so that would be cake. If you don't mind me asking how much were materials?

Re: Started to wrap Carbon Fiber around interior parts

Those are my own, no company made them Diablo

Fast 5.7oz 2x2 Twill runs $35.50 a yard from my supplier, and then a gallon of resin runs $28 and some odd change. It is like glass work, however this is a WOVEN fabric, it brays very EASY and will come apart on you literally. The weave is easy to mess up, twist, or flip, or make a hole in when laying around a part since it's a woven material, so you'd be out the money for the CF, and possibly the part if it were a boo boo. Can it be done sure, why not...Up to you if you wanna do it urself or not...

JP lol the apartment complex has a few open spaces here while I'm @ school...

Re: Started to wrap Carbon Fiber around interior parts

I've done some carbon stuff as well - but I built a vacume table for doing it. The surface doesnt come out as smooth, but the part weighs a lot less because you use a lot less resin. Also if you paint it you can see the weave through the paint :-P

And yes, carbon is like working with fiberglass, but its more a PITA. And more expensive too...

Great job though on those parts!
