Are SS mirrors Body color or black???

Are My mirrors supposed to be the body color? I thought that they were black?

EDIT: the top part of the car (not sure what its called) should be black as well right?
My car has body color mirrors and the top part of the car is also red to match the body color.

Nope, all of them are the same as the body colour, SS or Z28, only parts that are black are the head lights and down around the front licence plate.

Ok, here's the lowdown on the whole mirrors and roof colorization. I'll start with Z28s. In 1993 the Z28 came standard with black mirrors, roof and sail panels. Same in 1994. But starting in 1995 you could order your Z28 with either A.) Body colored mirrors B.) Body colored sail panels and roof or C.) Body colored roof and mirrors and sail panels. That stuck all the way to 2002. For 6 clylinders from 1993 - 2002 it's stock to have body colored mirrors, sail panels and roof but you could order them black if you wanted. As for the stock color of the SS mirrors, sail panel and roof was black, but whoever ordered it (Be it the dealer or a person) could have them colored in the body color. There are a few SS's in my club and all of them except one have black mirrors and sail panels. The one who doesn't has his mirrors black but his sail panel is Blue like the body. Hope I helped.

I know for sure that the 96's side mirrors are supposed to be body colour. And 99% sure that the head lights are black, not sure bout the roof though.

It all depends on what you ordered or what the dealership ordered. You could have one or the other. I can get you pics of 93s through 2002s of Z28's and SS's with either black mirrors or body colored.

My '96 SS had black sail/roof/mirrors. So does my '99. You could order them either way.

Mine has the monochromatic paint scheme. By the way, what is a sail panel?

No offense guys, but this is how it really goes. In 93 and 94 V6 Camaros could have either black or body color mirrors. They also say CAMARO on the sides in black where the Z28 normally goes. 93 and 94 Z28s all had the black roof and mirrors. In 95-99, you could either choose the roof and mirrors body color or roof and mirrors in black on all Camaros. In 2000-2002 it was the same except cars with black roofs had body color mirrors.

The ones that aren't like that have been repainted. I'm going to paint my mirrors body color eventually.

Oh and the headlight pockets are flat black from the factory on 93-97 except the Oynx Black ones that are gloss black.

On a side note I believe that the black mirrors were the only way to get a car that has T-tops........

OOOOh, I'm an idiot. I got the roof and that mixed up. I'm used to a t-top car so I was thinking the sail panel was actually the roof

Hmm, well I think this makes sence. but kinda not. My car is all body color, but the mirrors look like they were painted, as they are a darker red then the rest of the car.
I kinda lke black mirror and sail panels on a red car, but not goign ot paint mine. thanks

Unless you're specifically talking about SS's, in that case disregard what I said.
