i'd just go ahead and do all the body mods and wheels and not put the ss badges on it. it's pretty lame imo to badge a car as something it's not.

at one of our local meets, some guy showed up with a V6 that had z28 badges on it. he had the exhaust and wheels too. it was pretty gay.

Re: SS conversion

When I had my '97 Z28 I was proud to drive a Z28......now that I drive an SS I'm equally as proud to drive an SS. I feel SS's do look better so go ahead and make it look like one, just don't badge it as one because I feel your just trying to be something your not. Be proud of what you drive.....let people see its a Z28 with alot of appearance modifications.

Its worse here, we have a guy in town with a silver '98+ V6 with nothing done to it. Stock single exhaust, stock wheels, hood, and spoiler.....but he has SS badges on his.

Re: SS conversion

Don't do the badges, put the other stuff on there and it will look sweet.

Now that is just weak!

I understand what u guys r saying.
I just thaught if i did everything up SS(performance/appearance) it would b worthy of the SS badge.

Re: SS conversion

You can do better then what the SS came with for the same price. For instance a bigger sway bar for the same price etc. The SS does look hella sweet though, but I agree with not putting a badge on it since it's not a real SS. The worst is when people try to sell clones as real cars and take advantage of uninformed buyers.

Re: SS conversion

I saw a 93 camaro v6 at Wally World the other night with ss emblems on it from the newer monte carlos. I wanted to wait for he/she to come out so I could say "Let's race our SS's and see who wins" to see if they would say "It's only a V6" but my wife said she wanted to go home. That crap pi$$es me off. If it's a Z28 I don't get as mad but it's still not right. Like someone said above, be proud of what you drive with Z28 emblems on a decked out car. Good luck partner!
