SOM vs Atomic Orange vs Inferno Orange..
Well 9 years of the elements have finally caught up to the Camaro so it's time for new paint and it's down to these 3 colors. My current color is SOM, with the automatic tranny this is a 1 out of 170 car for 2001 and probably even more rare if i break it down with factory options. The rarity of the color is the only thing that's even keeping it in my options or else it would be either Atomic Orange or Inferno Orange. If i go inferno chrome wheels will replace my black Z06's and white stripes will be added with possibly a cowl hood instead of the SS hood. If i go inferno i will probably stick with the current black/orange color scheme and add black stripes and keep my current SS hood. As far as SOM goes, i really don't like the color, depending on the time of day it can either look really good or really ****ty rusty looking and i'm just tired of it so it's definitely last on my options list.
This is my car now, it only looks good during the evening hence the "sunset orange" name. On a cloudy day it looks like rust
Atomic Orange, notice how much more brilliant the orange is:
And finally Inferno Orange, this is my 1st choice as of now:

I painted my bike SOM and pewter and I very quickly tired of it looking like crap in differnt lighting too. So I went with tengello pearl on the car. I know its not GM, but I debated the 3 you picked out... they didnt win.

I really like that color, how is it during different times of day?

Painting a SOM Camaro black, red, or white should be a criminal offense. Why not just buy a black one for nearly the same cost as a paint job? Black Camaros were the 2nd highest production. They're everywhere!

Sure, find me a black Z28 with 450+whp for $2-$3k and i'll jump all over it Seriously though, i'm really leaning towards IO and that tengello pearl that chevysoccer posted is also a really nice color.

I'd throw out the Atomic Orange immediately. If you think SOM looks bad when not in direct sunlight, you'd really hate AO. I've seen that color in many different kinds of lighting, and there are almost no lighting conditions that make that color look good. It's too brown to be a good-looking orange, and it's too orange to be a good-looking brown/copper.
Between those three, I like IOM about as much as SOM. I haven't seen IOM on a fourth generation Camaro, so I can't comment on whether I think it'd look good or not. I think it's a bit too outstanding for a 4th gen myself. The 5th gen has those edge, exotic lines and the color goes well with that appearance. The 4th gen, in my opinion, doesn't match that color very well.

This is Lamborghini Orange on a Camaro. It's a lot more intense than Inferno or even Hugger I think. I love Lamborghinis in person in this color, so I think it's a good choice.
Not sure if this is the same color or not, but I think it is because the color is a pearly looking paint:
