Jason (or anyone else that has a set) -what color are the primed version supposed to be?

I ask because I ordered a primed version, and was expecting it to be grey -but I got a black set. I'm guessing that the primer is black, but I'd like confirmation to make sure I'm not trying to paint a set that might need to be prepped before painting.

Thanks!

I'm nolonger waiting. It looks nice and the fit is perfect. My only "probem" was with the backing paper. It was a real PIA. The trunk versions used a different paper than door locks, right? The door lock covers were on a white paper and peeled off w/o a problem but the trunk lock covers came on a brown paper that was tough to peel off.
Thanks for providing us w/ this unique way to make our cars even more peeerty, great product!

I got mine in and took them to be painted w/ my other stuff, so I didn't try to fit them. How is the fit of the trunk piece Mr.Whitey? Does it cover the entire hole?

Th trunk cover fits perfectly. When the cover is on, it leaves the very outer edge exposed. It fits right inside of the outer edge. Does that help?

I use clear automotive trim primer. Look at the backing paper, if it has a sort of texture to it, then they are primed. E-mail me if there are any problems.

Right, the first production of the door lock versions came on a white paper, which had no problems. However, this more recent run used different backing paper, and it has different properties. For this reason, I include this note in the confirmation e-mail I send to each person who orders:
NOTE: Be careful peeling them off from the waxed backing paper, the adhesive is VERY strong and sometimes the backing paper wants to peel off with it. Also, if you ever feel that a SmoothLock is losing its adhesive grip, remove it completely, clean the lock surface that it will be applied to, place a thin layer of clear silicone automotive adhesive on the back of the SmoothLock and replace. Enjoy!

You know...I have these pics, I just gotta upload them. Been crazy busy lately. Working 13 hour days, etc.

After I upload the pics, I will update the web site with the "real" prices, so if you are going to get some, get them now!

Okay, I just uploaded some temporary images of what the trunk version looks like.

On my car...

And just for kicks...on a Chevrolet truck (a bit dirty, but just so you get the idea...)

The cool part is that the f-body "trunk" size fits VERY well on MANY cars with the smaller size door locks. GM trucks, Corvettes, Impala SS trunk, Frezza's late model Buick Regal, my wife's 2002 Malibu...even the hatch lock on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee!
