A smaller Antenna

What is a good Antenna to get to replace the stock one on a 94 Camaro, I want something small (s2000? or BMW) Any ideas, thanks.

I cut mine with a dremel and put a vacuum cap over the end. It doesn't look like a giant R/C car now.

I did the same. Cut it down to size. Didn't affect radio reception much at all.

also cut mine. DO a search and you can find full instructions that tell you best way to cut, and keep the little ball on top

A vaccum cap? what do you mean? I was thinking about heat shrink tubing? I went to 2 auto parts stores today, the smallest they had was over 1 ft tall so i said forget it.

They are the little black rubber caps that you would use to cover an open vacuum port on your engine.

Look here

Any auto parts store has them. Just ask for a vacuum cap, they will show you all kinds of sizes. Just pick the one that fits the best over your antenna.

Look at the one of the rear and you can see the antenna good, It's a cut down stock one with the ball replaced.

I didn't like the bumper car look

I cut a third of my antenna off the other day. It looks great. I've got a rubber cap on it right now, but I think a black bead from the craft store with a hole drilled in it to fit the mast will be perfect.
Good mod.

Thumbs up

I bought little rubber antenna's from Meijer last summer. I have them on both cars and they only set me back $4 apiece. They screw right on. There's pics at the bottom of my sig.

I bought a rubber antenna about 10" tall from radio shack for $16. It is also fatter and looks a lot better IMO.

Go to www.ecklers.com. They have a shorty antenna (8" mast), pn 42647, $27.99 + shipping. I have one on my '94 z28 and it is a perfect replacement. Hope this helps.

They do have antennas that sit inside the car. Hot rod guys use them all the time. Or you could always shave the atenna and get one that goes in the front windshelid. My freinds dad did that when he had his camaro.
