Silly question about gauge overlays...

I know I'm retarded but I honestly don't know... since I have swapped engines in my car and it will go very much faster now... my original gauges only register 110mph, if I get a gauge overlay that registers 145mph, what kind of changes will have to be made for it to be correct? Or can you even do that? Am I just stuck with the 110mph gauges or overlays? Thanks.

Re: Silly question about gauge overlays...

You need to get a 145 mph cluster from another car.
You can't just put a 145 overlay on the 110.
Check ebay for a cluster.

Do you ever go over 110?

Please tell me you don't live in the Kansas City area. I don't want to be on the roads with you.

Re: Silly question about gauge overlays...

I swapped out gages in my 94 Formula. I couldn't stand having the 110 MPH V6 looking dash, when I knew it would do easily 140+. I made the switch to the 97 digital odometer dash I found on ebay for $85. I then had a notory officiate my mileage and sent it to a place in Texas to have my new dash re-calibrated for my mileage. After that, the install was a breeze and I have enjoyed the 150 dash ever since.

Too bad 200 MPH dash's aren't that cheap and easy to come by!

Re: Silly question about gauge overlays...

Well, my mileage is not right anyway, cuz we swapped out motors a while back. But the only gauges I see on eBay are from an older model are kinda ugly... I guess I just got used to the way my gauges look. I may just leave it with stock gauges, like a sleeper. lol.
