show me....

show me some pics of lowered 4th gen camaros with out ground effects. I am debating whether or not to lower the car 2 inches all around, or 1 inch and then add ground effects. Help me decide

Arrow

My car sits 26.25" on all corners.
That is around 1.75" lower than stock.
Pics in sig.

StealthStalker has his set at the same height with GFX. I have never heard him complain of clearance issues.

Good luck
Dave

Btw: We cut our stock springs...

Isn't it really bad to cut your springs?

If you don't do it right, it can be real bad.
The 2 things that will ruin the springs:
1) Using a torch or high heat to cut them. This takes the 'spring' out of the metal.
2) Cutting them too short. This will cause the car to be bouncy. Ever seen a ricer go over a bump and the car looks like it's on a pogo stick? They cut too much out of the springs. One coil is okay and improves both looks and handling dramaticly. If you want it shorter though, definately go with aftermarket springs.
I have 1 coil out of mine, not including the 'dead' spring which is about half a coil, and the car is about 1.75" lower and handles like it is on rails.
Even better than progressive springs IMO because they are a compromise between ride and handling. Single rate springs, like a cut spring and some aftermarkets, don't compromise.
Good luck on whatever you do.
Dave

Btw: I have a write-up on one of the pages on my site outlining some of the high points on swapping/cutting your springs. Not a complete how to, just some things I learned when I did my car.

DO NOT LOWER IT TOO MUCH...remember with people in the car it sits lower and my car has bottomed out many times..i also have headers and my loud mouth piping sits kinda low to the groud..but still be careful you dont want a hole in your headers just to make your car look awesome...
