Should I buy a Porter Cable?

This actually isn't even a thread to figure out whether I should buy a polisher, just that, essentially, does anything else even compare, or it it pretty much 'it' for doing any real polishing/waxing?

I looked at a few of the cheap normal rotaries, but it looks like a 7424 is the way to go, right?

I don't have one, but I know people that do, and I have been doing the research, and I can back up what 96 Z-Ragtop said, as nothing else is as good. If you get the porter cable, you can rest easy at night knowing you have the most top notch buffer available on the market.

I wouldn't use anything less than a Dewalt similar to this model:

It all really depends on what you want and what condition your paint is in. If you could post some clean direct sun shots that would help or a couple of close up halogen shots.

I started off using a Porter Cable but soon realized that it was not doing what I wanted and usually only use it for applying wax these day's.

The paint's in good condition, with good clear, it's just that the previous owner installed some nasty swirls on the rear half of the car...

Also, I'd post a picture in sunlight of the swirls, but it's snowing. Right now. In April.

Either way, I just went and picked one up anyway...Even IF I only end up using it for wax, which is unlikely (considering they're freaking expensive,) but it'll still be better than doing it by hand...

So, yeah, when the sun comes back out, (in the next week or so), I'll get some pics and some more instruction...
