shifter ***

i have a 96 camaro it is a automatic and i need to get a diffrent center console and i need to now how to take the *** off. the nod a has the push button on top.

pull the shifter all the way back into 1st or 2nd, then get a flat head screw driver or needle nose plyers, and pull out the staple on the front of the ****, then pull the **** off. But watch out if it is your first time taking it off, be careful, they tend to stick then fly up and hit you in the head. (I found this out the hard way )
